According to materials:

1. Al2O3 ceramic PCB

Al2O3 ceramic PCB refers to various ceramic PCBs with Al2O3 as the main raw material, α - Al2O3 as the main crystal phase and Al2O3 content of more than 75%. It has many advantages, such as rich sources of raw materials, low price, high mechanical strength and hardness, good insulation performance, heat-resistant impact performance, good chemical erosion resistance, high size accuracy, good adhesion with metal and so on. It is a ceramic substrate with a good comprehensive performance in Material Science.

2. SiC Ceramic PCB

The thermal conductivity of SiC Ceramic PCB is very high, which is 100-490w / (m · K) at room temperature and is related to the purity of SiC crystal. The higher the purity is, the higher the thermal conductivity is; the better the oxidation resistance is, the decomposition temperature is above 2500 ℃, and it can still be used in the oxidation atmosphere at 1600 ℃; the thermal expansion coefficient is also low, and it is close to Si, and the electrical insulation performance is good; the hardness of SiC is 9.75, next to diamond and cubic BN, with mechanical strength High. SiC ceramics have strong covalent bond properties and are difficult to be sintered. Usually, a small amount of boron or aluminum oxide is added as a sintering aid to improve the density. Experiments show that beryllium, boron, aluminum and their compounds are the most effective additives, which can make the density of SiC ceramics reach more than 98%.

3. BeO ceramic PCB

BeO has the structure of Zincite, in which the oxygen ions are arranged in the form of the hexagonal lattice. General oxides are usually ionic compounds, while BeO has a strong covalent bond and an average molecular weight of only 12. These factors make it possess the conditions of high thermal conductivity, with a bandgap of 10.6ev, strong insulation, piezoelectric properties, light-emitting and photochemical properties, high mechanical strength, low dielectric loss and so on. It has become one of the materials concerned by people.

4. AlN ceramic PCB

AlN ceramic PCB is a new type of high thermal conductivity ceramic packaging material. It has been widely studied and developed since the 1990s. It is widely considered as a promising electronic ceramic packaging PCB. AlN materials have high thermal conductivity, excellent dielectric properties, high electrical insulation strength, stable chemical properties, strong corrosion-resistance, and good mechanical properties, especially its thermal expansion coefficient and silicon match well, which make it an ideal substrate material for semiconductor packaging. It has been widely used in integrated circuits, microwave power devices, millimeter-wave packaging, high-temperature electronic packaging, and Other fields.

The base material, which is also named as substrate, is composed of insulating fiber glass which gives PCB strength and compact look. The nature and type of base material defines if board is going to be Flexible PCB or Rigid PCB.

Above substrate, there lies a copper layer which provides conducting path for various components on the board. The copper thickness is different for different boards depending on your needs and requirements and is defined in ounces per square foot.
